The Histopathology Laboratory deals with processing and examination of a biopsy
or surgical specimen by a pathologist. Specimens are processed to determine the
nature of the disease, the structural and functional changes of the cells, tissues and organs caused by the disease.
Because we are aware of the fact that the quality of slides we produce have a great impact on arriving at the correct diagnoses, it is imperative that we adhere to strict quality standards, utilize the finest equipment and reagents and employ highly competent medical technologists.
Studies on renal biopsies with special stains and immuno-fluorescence are special features of the section.
Processing and interpretation of fine needle aspiration biopsies obtained by ultrasound or CT scan are also done.
We also offer a wide array of immunohistochemical studies that are run on our automated stainer for greatly uniform outcomes.
Our histopathology laboratory has been designated as the National Reference Laboratory for Anatomic Pathology because of our highly standardized procedures and our exceedingly consistent and high quality results.
