Therapeutic Drug Monitoring
The Special Chemistry Laboratory performs four therapeutic drug assays namely Innofluor Certican, Cyclosporine, Rapamune and Tacrolimus. These assays are used in the management of organ transplant patients. Blood concentration levels of these drugs are useful guides in dosage adjustments to achieve optimal immunosuppression while minimizing toxicity.
The section also performs biliary and urinary stone analysis.
